NI Benefits Navigator ("we", "us", "our") is a small digital products business based in Northern Ireland. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller for personal data we collect about you. You can contact us at hello@nibenefitsnavigator.com. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZC117661).
We do not store personal data on this website itself. Submitted email addresses are held in Mailjet and/or Meta Business Suite.
Because this service relates to disability benefits, some information you give us may reveal health or disability-related circumstances. That is special category data under UK GDPR. Where we process it, we rely on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)). We keep it minimised to high-level categories rather than free-text health detail, and we have completed a Data Protection Impact Assessment for this processing.
We run a voluntary outcomes survey to understand how people get on and to improve our guidance. Taking part is optional and is never required to buy or download anything. Because this information relates to disability benefits, it is special category data, which we process only with your explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and Article 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw at any time by emailing hello@nibenefitsnavigator.com and we will delete your record. We do not publish anything you tell us unless you give separate, specific consent for a testimonial.
We do not sell your data.
Some of our processors transfer data outside the UK. Those transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Our outcomes data is stored by Supabase in the European Economic Area (Ireland); transfers from the UK to the EEA are covered by UK adequacy regulations.
If our business (or part of it) is sold, merged, transferred or reorganised as a going concern, your personal data may be disclosed to the prospective or actual buyer as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards. Any successor would only be able to use your data for the same purposes described in this policy and would be bound to honour your existing choices, including unsubscribes and objections. If such a transfer takes place, we will notify you by email before your data is transferred, and you will be given a clear opportunity to object or unsubscribe before any transfer of your data occurs. "We do not sell your data" means we never sell your data to third parties for their own marketing; it does not prevent a transfer of the business itself as described here.
Email addresses: until you unsubscribe, or after 24 months of inactivity. Pixel data: per Meta's retention policies. Server logs: 30 days. Outcomes survey records: kept until you withdraw, or 12 months after your last contact with us, whichever is first.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@nibenefitsnavigator.com to exercise these rights.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
