What this site is

NI Benefits Navigator, at nibenefitsnavigator.com, is a small digital products business based in Northern Ireland. We provide plain-English information guides to help people in Northern Ireland understand and navigate disability and carer benefits administered by the Department for Communities (DfC), including PIP, DLA and Attendance Allowance. We are an information service. We are not a legal service, a benefits advice service, or a medical evidence provider, and we are not connected to the DfC or any government department.

Not professional advice

Everything on this website and in our guides is general information based on publicly available DfC guidance and lived experience. It is not legal advice, professional benefits advice, or medical evidence, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome for any claim, review or appeal. If you need independent, professional help with your claim, contact Advice NI on 0800 915 4604 or your local independent advice centre.

Products and delivery

Our free guide is delivered by email after you sign up on our website. Our paid guides are digital PDF products delivered via our payment platforms (Payhip or Gumroad) — after checkout you receive a download link by email and on the confirmation page. Paid guides are priced as shown on the product page at the time of purchase. All prices are in GBP.

Refunds and your legal rights

Your 14-day cancellation right. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to change your mind about an online purchase. For digital downloads, the law works like this: when you buy, you are asked to agree that we supply the download immediately, and you acknowledge that once the download begins you lose the 14-day right to cancel. If you buy but have not yet downloaded or accessed the product, you can still cancel within 14 days for a full refund — just email us.

Faulty or not as described. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If a guide you bought is faulty or not as described on the product page, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, or — if we can't fix it — some or all of your money back. Nothing in these terms takes away those statutory rights.

Bought the wrong guide? Our guides cover Northern Ireland only. If you are in Great Britain and bought one of our NI guides by mistake, email us within 14 days and we will refund or swap it.

How to ask. Email hello@nibenefitsnavigator.com with your order email address and the product name. We aim to reply within 3 working days. Refunds go back to your original payment method via the platform you bought through.

What refunds don't cover. We don't refund because a claim, review, or appeal was unsuccessful — our guides are information, not advice, and no outcome is ever guaranteed.

Jurisdiction of our content

Our guides cover benefits as administered by the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland only. They do not cover Great Britain (where PIP is administered by the DWP, and Scotland has Adult Disability Payment). If you are outside Northern Ireland, this content is not written for your claim.

Copyright

All content on this website and in our guides is copyright NI Benefits Navigator 2026. You may use our guides for your own claim or for the person you care for. You may not redistribute, resell, or republish them.

Limitation of liability

We provide our guides in good faith based on publicly available DfC guidance. We are not liable for the outcome of any benefit claim, mandatory reconsideration, or appeal — decisions are made by DfC decision-makers based on individual circumstances. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, or excludes your statutory consumer rights.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
